FanIQ[dot]com has become the most interactive sports website with almost 12 million registered users. I felt the need to write this article because when I invited my friends to join me on FanIQ, a couple of them sent me a link of some Canadian security advisor site and told that according to the advisor site, FanIQ is a place to hang out for sports fans, but one needs to be careful there as the e-bar can send spam to contacts of its own users!

As a user and fan of FanIQ, I was surprised to hear that because from the press releases of FanIQ I often get to know about the company and it's quite difficult to believe that such a company which is backed by some high-profile investors including Facebook board member and PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel, Yelp board member and Slide executive Keith Rabois, Tribe Network founder and Aggregate Knowledge CEO and co-founder Paul Martino, and StubHub co-founder Jeff Fluhr would ever do any such thing.

Since I wanted to see my friends on FanIQ, I told them about the above plus the fact that FanIQ is also backed by VantagePoint Venture Partners, which is a leading venture capital firm with a large team of investment experts, an extensive network of advisors and strategic partners, and over $4.5 billion of committed capital in transformative companies that, according to VantagePoint, are the companies that are defining the 21st century technologies.

I am glad that I was able to convince, but after some time, one of my friends forwarded a link that contained some unfair comments by some folks about FanIQ; the same kind of comments that said that the sports e-bar sends invitations to contacts of its own users without their consent. At first I thought that they are competitors of FanIQ who are hell bent to get their own sports sites popular by degrading FanIQ. However, when I dug a little I discovered that people with complaints had actually forgotten to uncheck "invite my friends" during registration or after it on their account settings page and as a result their contacts were getting the invitations to join FanIQ.

Now, I don't see any foul play by FanIQ here. In fact, FanIQ, to make sports fans more comfortable, went ahead and removed the whole option of sending invitations. Today, FanIQ is long free of any such issues.

People who didn't have a good experience at the sports bar should know that the problem is long gone and now FanIQ is a cool, fun place to hang out for sports fans and you can safely rejoin to be among the millions of sports fans who are getting live scores, talking trash, playing games, and having fun on FanIQ , which benefits from investments by some leading U.S. angel investors including VantagePoint Venture Partners, which has a dedicated page for FanIQ on its official website (here: http://www.vpvp.com/faniq).
